Portland, OR - To recognize the growing influence and number of female riders, MotoSport.com has initiated their "Break the Mold" campaign to give women a platform for sharing their passion to ride and inspire others.

MotoSport.com introduced the "Break the Mold" campaign on Saturday during the Washougal National as a way to recognize female riders and give them an opportunity to share their story of how they "broke the mold" by carving their own path and pushing past expectations in a male-dominated sport.

MotoSport has teamed with four-time Women's Motocross Champion Ashley Fiolek and three-time Loretta Lynn Amateur National Champion Tarah Gieger to promote the campaign. With their help, the #1 powersports retailer of parts and gear hopes to encourage other female riders to not only share their riding stories but to keep riding and inspire other women to gear up and throw a leg over a motorcycle.

"I was the first deaf woman rider in pro Motocross so I certainly know the ups and downs of trying to make it in this sport," said Fiolek, who also has a couple of X Games gold medals. "Thankfully, I had the support of my mom and dad and I learned from an early age about hard work, not giving up, and most of all to have fun."

Fiolek and Gieger star in a MotoSport-produced commercial that will begin airing during the Unadilla National and remain on NBC Sports' advertisement rotation for the rest of the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series. Additionally, MotoSport plans an extensive email push promoting the campaign to their existing customer base, will use social media for extended outreach and went live last week with a dedicated webpage that includes additional details on the #BreakTheMold campaign.

"MotoSport has always been there for every rider whether beginner or pro, male or female," said Amanda Heaberlin, Sr. Creative Manager for MotoSport. "The Break the Mold campaign is simply our way of recognizing that women love motorcycles just as much as men but we also wanted to give female riders a chance to share their story whether they are a pro racer or are scientist by day and a ripper on the weekends. The idea is to open up the door to help grow the motorcycle industry by becoming more inclusive and not so exclusive."

MotoSport encourages women riders of all ages to "share your story" by tagging MotoSport on social media and using #BreakTheMold. During the coming months, MotoSport will feature some of those submitted stories on the company's social feed. Furthermore, those who submit stories that exemplify the campaign's theme will be eligible to win prizes by Fox Racing, Fly Racing, Bell, Thor and Red Bull.

About MotoSport.com

MotoSport was founded in Yakima, WA in 1999 by a gentleman named Bill Butcher.

Bill loved riding motorcycles and raced in the expert class in the super competitive AMA District 13 in the late 70s and early 80s. He ultimately founded MotoSport because he believed he could provide a better service to his fellow powersports enthusiasts than the vast majority of local dealers and because he had always dreamed of one day combining his passion with his business prowess. He built the foundation of the business upon a single shared passion for motorcycles and the rest is history, as they say.

Now well into our second decade, MotoSport continues to lead the powersports industry in selection, quality, expertise and customer service. When you call for help or advice you'll actually talk to someone who owns, rides and wrenches on a dirt bike, street bike, ATV or side-by-side. You won't find a more knowledgeable staff of Gearheads or a more devoted customer base because those who rely on us for their parts and gear know that with MotoSport, the loyalty is mutual. Our competitive pricing and wide selection of products means you can grab everything from that impossible-to-find OEM bolt to the latest and greatest motorcycle helmet and have it all on your doorstep in days. Were passionate about what we sell because what we sell is fun.
