Portland, OR - The sweet sounds of braaap once again fill the skies of the Pacific Northwest as the 8th annual 125 Dream Race returns to Washougal MX Park for a weekend of music, fun and racing.

MotoSport.com helps honor the past and a returning tradition in dirt bike racing as title sponsor of the annual 125 Dream Race when gates drop for the popular 2-stroke class from Friday - Sunday, August 23 to 25 at Washougal Motocross Park in Washougal, WA. MotoSport has lent support to the race for several years and this year organizers plan even more entertainment while keeping the spirit of 2-stroke racing alive.

Local pro Joey Lancaster founded the race after a night of bench racing and storytelling with fellow riders who longed for the 2-stroke days of yesterday that were replaced by the 4-stroke in a long and sordid story too long to share in this space. By day break, the dream to keep the 125 2-stroke alive, along with its celebrated noise that sounds like a bee swarm or how fans verbalize as "braaap," came to fruition and shortly after a plan and action were put into place.

"Wow, eight years already with the 125 Dream Race. It is great to have Motosport.com as title sponsor with us yet again," said Lancaster, who is the local representative for Fox Racing. "Year eight is a year for us to give back to our community that made the industry change. We have some fun announcements and prizes for our fans and racers that we are going to give out."

The 125 Dream Race scratched the itch of many who grew up racing the small bore engine or simply enjoyed riding the nimble dirt bike. So much so in fact, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross National Championship series caught on to its popularity and now features a 125 race at every round that proves nearly as popular as the actual 250 and 450 classes racing for a Championship.

"The 125 2-stroke may have fallen off the radar years ago but it never really went away. The popularity of this race just goes to show how many people enjoy riding, racing and watching a 125 tackle a motocross track," said Scott Huddleston, VP and General Manager of MotoSport. "For veteran riders, the nostalgia behind the 125 dirt bike remains strong and I think we are seeing a real comeback so I'm excited to see what the future holds."

The annual 125 Dream Race always brings out former pros, local fast riders and pretty much anyone who grew up riding dirt bikes. In addition to racing, the three-day weekend includes Saturday open practice, a hole shot challenge, BMX bike race, prizes and giveaways and of course a 125 Main Event. About MotoSport.com

MotoSport was founded in Yakima, WA in 1999 by a gentleman named Bill Butcher.

Bill loved riding motorcycles and raced in the expert class in the super competitive AMA District 13 in the late 70s and early 80s. He ultimately founded MotoSport because he believed he could provide a better service to his fellow powersports enthusiasts than the vast majority of local dealers and because he had always dreamed of one day combining his passion with his business prowess. He built the foundation of the business upon a single shared passion for motorcycles and the rest is history, as they say.

Now well into our second decade, MotoSport continues to lead the powersports industry in selection, quality, expertise and customer service. When you call for help or advice you'll actually talk to someone who owns, rides and wrenches on a dirt bike, street bike, ATV or side-by-side. You won't find a more knowledgeable staff of Gearheads or a more devoted customer base because those who rely on us for their parts and gear know that with MotoSport, the loyalty is mutual. Our competitive pricing and wide selection of products means you can grab everything from that impossible-to-find OEM bolt to the latest and greatest motorcycle helmet and have it all on your doorstep in days. Were passionate about what we sell because what we sell is fun.
