The 2015 MotoSport.com AX Tour three-week break ends on Saturday as Round 5 resumes the series in Jackson, MS.
Heath Harrison leads the field with 100 points in the high-payout "Clash for Cash" event. Harrison puts his four race win streak on the line with serious competition from Travis Sewell who is in second-place with 86 points and a distant third is Josh Cartwright with 65 points.
Sewell is perfect in the AX Pro Lites class leading Cartwright by 28 points and he also leads Harrison in the AX Pro standings by nine points. Cartwright takes up third-place in the AX Pro class. Cody Vanbuskirk is a distant third in the AX Pro Lites class, 18 points behind Cartwright.
In Round 4, held on December 13 in Memphis, TN, Steven Nages grabbed the holeshot in the "Clash for Cash" event and then went down with Josh Osby after Osby tried a pass. That opened the door for Harrison to remain perfect in the Clash event and he took it by cutting under Sewell for the lead. It was the third time Harrison and Sewell finished 1-2 in the Main event.
The Clash for Cash event brings the Top 10 riders from the AX Pro and AX Lites races to compete head-to-head in a 20-lap main event. Riders earn points in each class as well as the Clash for Cash, which offers the highest payout of all the races. The new AX Tour season is capitalizing on last year's record breaking turn-out as more than 30 riders entered for both the AX Pro and AX Pro Lites classes. Additionally, more than $175,000 in cash and contingencies is up for grabs this year.
