Expect a Motocross season.

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series released the 2021 Outdoor schedule today with some interesting turns and whoops but all thus far is well for the Nationals as a 12 round series returns and most of the favorite tracks remain as hosts.

Now that COVID-19 has ushered in a new world order forcing a rethinking of how to work, live and play safely, as we attempt to keep a semblance of normalcy, dirt bike racing indeed resumes full throttle this year but the 2021 Motocross Schedule looks a bit different from past seasons, at least in terms of locations and corresponding rounds. Most notably, Hangtown, which typically opens the Outdoor season, closes the 2021 Motocross series on September 11 while the opening round goes to the Fox Raceway National in Pala, CA during Memorial Day weekend on May 29. Riders get a second taste of Fox Raceway as the Pala National hosts Round 11 on September 4.

Fear not and do not be afraid of the coronavirus or the July 4th race not being held at RedBud because of all the changes this year. The powers-that-be secured RedBud to host Round 5 on July 3 and those of us in the Pacific Northwest get our Washougal National back at its usual spot on July 24 after it was ripped from our half waffle grips last year. Ya, we won't go there. No Fall colors at Spring Creek like we enjoyed last year when the season entered the Autumn months because of the pandemic, but fans in Millville, MN gets Round 6 on July 17. The 2021 Motocross schedule also incorporates four off weekends including a lengthy three week stretch between Round 7 at Washougal and Round 8 for the Unadilla National on August 14. For a recap of the 2020 season with Zach Osborne crowned as 450 class champion and Dylan Ferrandis taking the 250 class title, read the 2020 Fox Raceway Motocross Photo Gallery.

Oh, by the way, don't believe the dates on the Promotocross website. All dates are on Saturday not Friday.

Watch all 2021 Motocross races on NBC's Peacock Premium streaming services live and commercial free along with exclusive live streams of timed practice and qualifying sessions. NBC Sports Network will also broadcast each Moto for the 250 and 450 classes.
