The schedule for 2024 Supercross and Motocross racing season culminating in the SuperMotocross Championship begins Jan. 6, 2024 and retains the 17 round Supercross, 11 Round Motocross and three round SuperMotocross playoff series.
Some interesting venues for the Indoor season with Oracle Park in San Francisco replacing the usual Oakland round on Jan. 13. Basically, exchanging one crime ridden city for another. But new to the series includes Protective Stadium in Birmingham, AL and Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA. Philadelphia last hosted Supercross in 1980 at RFK Stadium (At least that's what the internet indicates.) Nashville returns for a second straight year, no Atlanta, two Anaheims (of course!), an early stop in Detroit with the final round held at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City for the fifth year in a row.
All the usual stops for Motocross remain and all dates and locations for SuperMotocross will be determined at a later date. See all schedules below for details.

2024 SuperMotocross Championship Schedule
The 2024 Supercross and Motocross seasons end with the three-round playoff SuperMotocross World Championship back for the second year. The inaugural year proved successful and with the seemingly slow burn demise of the World Supercross Championship overseas, SMX can rest easy.
How does the SuperMotocross World Championship Work?
For those just tuning in, Supercross and Motocross still crown individual Champions in their respective series for the 250 and 450 classes. The Top 20 riders in combined Supercross & Motocross points for each class automatically seed into the SuperMotocross World Championship playoffs. Riders ranked 21 to 30 in points or who won a Supercross Main Event or overall victory in Motocross qualify for the Last Chance Qualifier for the final two spots in the Main Event which features two Motos, each 20 minutes. But, Those qualifying for the LCQ must race every LCQ for each of the three rounds.
SuperMotocross or SMX evens the field by resetting all points won in the Supercross and Motocross seasons with the rider with most combined Motocross and Supercross points entering the SMX rounds with 25 points. Second in points begins with 22 points, third with 20 points and so on following the traditional Motocross points format. SMX gives 25 points for the Round 1 winner (and so on following traditional Motocross points), but doubles the total points won with 50 points for the Round 2 winner and triples it to 75 points for the final round winner. The SuperMotocross World Champion might not be the reigning Supercross and/or Motocross Champion and with the points tripled a rider could end up the SMX Champion who has no business being one. Neat.
