The inaugural season of the MotoSport.com Pac West series comes to a close on Sunday as Grays Harbor ORV hosts Round 7 in McCleary, WA.

Yes! Fans can expect Ryan Villopoto in attendance but also some solid racing as organizers wrap a successful season with plans already in the works for 2019. This week, Villopoto's summer camp was in full swing at Grays Harbor with many attendees expected to try out their new skills on Sunday.

"The last round of our first season is upon us. Come race with us even though this may be your first round," said Brian Nilsen, co-founder of the racing series with Ryan Villopoto. "Year-end awards will be given out and we are excited to bookend our first year."

The 2018 series traveled to six different tracks mostly throughout Washington with one in Oregon and Grays Harbor hosting two rounds. Nilsen said many milestones were accomplished for the series by leveraging relationships they created.

"Offering contingencies from the five largest manufacturers, including sponsorship from over 10 dealers, OEMs and online retailers, as well as purchasing year-end awards and prizes at enormous discounts are just a few things we accomplished this year," he said. "We would like to emphasize all of your entry fees, except for $5 went to the tracks. The rest went to awards. In other words the promoters of the series donated their time to benefit the series."

Nilsen said he expects to continue with the current model put in place this year for the 2019 series and tweak some things to make the series better.

Year-end awards go to those riders who have raced in a minimum of six rounds but first-timers can certainly join for the final round and get a taste of how the series works for next year. The format continues just like all summer with an available practice day on Saturday and racing on Sunday. The optional practice day costs $35. Race fee costs $35 plus a one-time $35 membership fee (if not paid at previous rounds) and a $15 entry fee charged by the track.
