Johnny Moore almost swept the MotoSport.com AX Tour on Saturday in Memphis after an outstanding showing with a first-place finish in the AX Pro Lites, a second-place in the AX Pro Main and grabbing his first win of the season in the "Clash for Cash" event.

Moore dominated all night winning his heats in both the AX Pro and AX Pro Lites events and battling Cole Thompson for first in the Pro Main event until Thompson, winner of the first three "Clash for Cash" events, pulled away and won the AX Pro Main for the fourth-time this year. Thompson rode through an injury two weeks ago in Philadelphia, MS and this go-round he clipped a tough block that damaged his brake pedal. He finished 10th.

Travis Sewell didn't let up from his first "Clash" event win two weeks ago and finished second in the Pro Lites and "Clash" events this time around. Luke Vonlinger finished third in the Pro Lites and "Clash" events and grabbed fifth in the AX Pro main event.

Despite the setbacks in recent weeks, Thompson continues to lead the "Clash" in points, though Sewell narrowed the gap from 32 to 23, and extended his lead in the AX Pro standings from 15 to 41 points over Maxx Malatia.

The top pro riders compete in the AX and AX Lites classes and the best riders of both classes compete head-to-head in their respective categories in the 20-lap main event entitled "MotoSport.com Clash for Cash" at each stop in the tour. The Arenacross Tour started in 2001 and features more than 30 amateur class of competitions including pro quad races and new this year is professional women's motocross.

AX Tour races run in a motocross format rather than the traditional arenacross format which gives riders more track time. Riders receive Arenacross tour points according to their finish and at the end of the tour cash bonuses are awarded to the top riders in each class.

The AX Tour takes a two-week break for the holidays and resumes Jan. 4, 2014 in Jackson, MS. Buy advance online tickets and save on prices.
