The 2015 MotoSport.com AX Tour resumes this weekend with gates dropping for Round 2 at 7 p.m. Saturday at Western Kentucky University's L.D. Brown Ag Expo Center in Bowling Green, KY.
AX Tour veteran Heath Harrison rides atop the "Clash for Cash" standings after coming from behind to take Round 1 two weeks ago in Cookeville, TN. Travis Sewell, another familiar face to the AX Tour, leads the AX Pro and AX Pro Lites classes. Sewell took third in the "Clash for Cash" event. Luke Vonlinger added serious competition taking second in both the Pro and Pro Lites classes and fourth in the Clash event.
The stop in Bowling Green is the second year in a row for the MotoSport.com AX Tour and the only Round held in Kentucky this season. Jetwerx, the company constructing the Arenacross tracks for every Round, plans to use the arena's different mix of soil and shape to build a unique track layout. The Clash for Cash event brings the Top 10 riders from the AX Pro and AX Lites races to compete head-to-head in a 20-lap main event. Riders earn points in each class as well as the Clash for Cash, which offers the highest payout of all the races. The new AX Tour season is capitalizing on last year's record breaking turn-out as more than 30 riders entered for both the AX Pro and AX Pro Lites classes. Additionally, more than $175,000 in cash and contingencies is up for grabs this year.
Doors open for Round 2 at 6 p.m. Advance purchase tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children under 11 years old. Day of event tickets cost $18 for adults and $12 for children under 11 and can be purchased at the arena box office, 406 Elrod Road in Bowling Green, KY.
