Portland, OR - MotoSport.com presents The Best of the Midwest, an eight round Summer Motocross series stretching from May to October across three states that features racing in 28 classes with payouts in five classes, manufacture contingency and a huge pro purse.

MotoSport is pleased to continue a joint effort with long-time sponsored rider Cody Gilmore to bring the best Motocross racing to Midwest Motocross fans and riders of all ages and calibers. The Best of the Midwest Motocross series is bigger and better this year with two more races added in addition the finest racing tracks visited in last year's inaugural event:

  • Fiddler Creek MX, Homer, NE
  • The Farm MX, Indianola, IA
  • Kahoka MX, Kahoka, MO
  • MX on the Bluffs, Lincoln, NE
  • Oak Ridge MX, Garwin, IA
  • Midwest Extreme Park, Merwin MO
  • KC MOTO, Adrian, MO
  • Abbott MX, Lincoln, NE

"We're so pleased to continue our relationship with Cody and support this great Motocross series," said Darren Green, Director of Marketing. "We love being involved with these grassroots efforts and if last year was any indicator, the 2017 series is only going to get better and much bigger."

Gilmore won a Championship in the Intermediate class at Loretta Lynn's and is a well-known privateer who fought his way from the amateur ranks to the pros without factory support. In 2012, he made the jump from the 250 class to 450 and after an injury halted the start of the 2014 Supercross season he returned making eight of the final nine rounds. He was back for the 2017 Supercross season and made the Night Show three times before a crash ended his run.

"I'm so excited to have MotoSport back as Title Sponsor," Gilmore said. "Last year, I said this was just the tip of the iceberg for us and we're back with a bigger series and even more popularity. The sky is the limit and we're off and running."

Best of the Midwest hosts one round each month, two in July and August, with a Champion decided in October. Every round races the same 28 classes and the pro classes pay out a 200 percent purse plus $500. Additionally, two rounds offer free entry to 50cc riders.

More information and official rules for the Best of the Midwest Motocross series can be found here and the classes offered here. Round 1 of Best of the Midwest is Sunday May 21 at Fiddler Creek MX in Homer, NE. Entry and gate fees are determined by the track. Riders must race a minimum of six rounds to be eligible for year-end rewards.

About MotoSport.com

MotoSport was founded by a guy named Bill who raced expert class in the super competitive AMA District 13 in the late 70s and early 80s. He surrounded himself with dirt bike enthusiasts and to this day, we still employ active racers and avid riders. Our passion extends from generation to generation and we want the same for you. We don't call ourselves "The Guys That Ride" because it's a catchy slogan. When you call for help or advice you'll actually talk to someone who owns, rides and wrenches on a dirt bike, street bike or ATV. Our powersports enthusiasm instantly bonds us... maybe we'll see you out riding one of these days. That's the MotoSport difference.

Now in our second decade, MotoSport continues to lead the powersports industry in selection, quality and customer service. You won't find more knowledgeable Gearheads or a more devoted customer base because those who rely on us for their parts and gear know that in the MotoSport world, loyalty is mutual. Our competitive pricing and wide selection of products means you can grab that impossible-to-find OEM bolt and popular brand favorite riding protection, and have it on your doorstep in days. We're passionate about what we sell because what we sell is fun.
