As a warm up to his second GNCC XC1 Season, Kailub raced in the first round of the WORCS Series. He was able to improve his results from Saturday to Sunday and managed a combined result of 10th.
"This year I've decided to do a few WORCS races to prepare for the upcoming GNCC season. Glenn Helen was the first round, and I was looking forward to getting out there and seeing how I would stack up against the west coast guys. Off the start on Saturday's main I got a horrible start. Then soon after I began to pump up and started riding terrible. My arm pump didn't go away until two laps to go and by that time I was already way back and no chance at catching anyone, I ended up 13th. Day 2 went a little better I got off to a mid-pack start and I was wanting to improve on my result and ride from the previous day. On the first lap I quickly got shuffled back to about tenth, and the front guys got away from me as I tightened up once again, about 4 laps in I started riding pretty well and maintained my position at the checkers I ended up 9th. Overall on the weekend I was pretty disappointed with my two performances, I know my abilities and I was nowhere close to riding to my full potential, but it was a good experience and good seat time for preparing for my first round of the GNCC series."
