Eli Tomac wasted little time in taking the Red Plate back sweeping Round 8 of the 2018 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series on Saturday at Spring Creek in Millville, MN.

It was the fourth sweep of the season and sixth overall win for Tomac who lost a 32 point lead two weeks ago after a bike malfunction in Moto 1 and several crashes in Moto 2 led to a 35 point swing after RedBud and Marvin Musquin holding the Red Plate. This time however, vintage Tomac returned carving the short field ahead of him in both Motos and winning outright. Musquin had a small get-off in Moto 1 which put him in fourth but he managed a third overall finishing second behind Tomac in Moto 2 after relinquishing the lead in the final laps. Ken Roczen (2-3) took second overall.

In the 250 class Aaron Plessinger swept for the second round in a row and extended his points lead to 49 over Alex Martin (7-2) who was unable to take advantage of racing on his home track and finished third overall. Justin Cooper (4-3) returned to the podium for the first time since Round 4 with a second overall.
