Fox Racing started in 1974 as a tiny distribution business for European motocross parts and accessories. By 1976, the company added high-performance suspension and engine components. Founder Geoff Fox decided to show Fox meant business and in 1977 he created Team Moto-X Fox, a privately owned professional motocross team. The team's riders made a splash by wearing bright red, yellow and orange race outfits handmade by Fox. The clothing became an instant hit with fans who wanted Fox Motocross riding gear.
